Vehicles of the Michigan State Police

Whether on land, sea or air the Michigan State Police is equipped to do the job.  As you can see from the pictures that I've posted, the Michigan State Police has an impressive array of vehicles to help them get the job done .  Supersonic Safety Research says:  Thank you Michigan Troopers for all you do.

I started my law enforcement career with this agency and worked at the State University of New York College at Old Westbury.  This is a great law enforcement job.  I personally think it is one of the best law enforcement jobs, particularly in the upstate region where your money goes further.  Go to their Facebook page and you can get a taste of what the job has to offer.

Revisiting PI Sam's Favorites

I had reason to go back over PI Sam's favorites yesterday.

I was reading an article about Sue Grafton who is the author of the books featuring Sam's favorite fictional PI,  Kinsey Mahone.  I still need to start reading this series.  I also started thinking that I should do my favorites, but since I am more CJ (Criminal Justice) than PI my list will be police/law enforcement.  I am going to start working on that tomorrow,I have a feeling once I sit down to write it, it won't be so easy to come up with only one fave.  Maybe I'll do my top three.

Everybody Loves Traffic School

After watching "Motor Mania"  did you think you were more Mr Walker or  Mr Wheeler?  Perhaps you are a little of both. As I said I would use this video to start off my 'Driving Classes'.  Why?  Well watch this episode of Everybody Loves Raymond (Traffic Class) and see Robert's attempt to teach a 'Driving Class'.  'Robert's reliance on 'the binder' to structure his course demonstrates why his course is - BORING!  As I said I sat in these classes before I taught them, and my instructors stuck to 'the binder' and bored everyone to death.  I laugh everytime I watch this episode as it reminds me of how I started out and evolved  my class to where it was interesting and informative, where I felt my students were engaged and walked away as safer drivers.   I'll be putting together 'Defensive Driving" segments for the blog and hopefully you will find them interesting and helpful.
Enjoy this episode of Everybody Loves Raymond - Traffic School:
