Supersonic Safety Research attended Missing in Michigan on September 8. I have to admit I did not know what to expect, but this event was incredible. The Michigan State Police had a big presence at this event and were interesting and very informative. I enjoyed talking to all the troopers and learning more about the State Police and also the various specialties within the department. It was hard to see all the family members of the missing, I can't imagine what it must be like to have someone you care about missing. My thoughts and prayers are with all the missing and their loves ones.
The highlight of the event were the 3 speakers: Duane T Bowers, Carol Ryan and Beth Holloway. Mr Bowers is a professional counselor who specializes in counseling families of missing children and adults. Ms Ryan is the mother of a child that went missing;however she is one of the fortunate whose daughter was recovered through a combined effort of organizations and law enforcement. Ms Holloway is the mother of Natalee Holloway who disappeared in Aruba in 2005. You can read more about the speakers here: http://www.missinginmichigan.com/Speakers
FYI: There are approximately 4,000 missing people in Michigan
