Missing in Michigan Fingerprint Identification - Michigan State Police |
I try to learn something everyday and listening to the speakers at Missing in Michigan not only taught me some things , but they also gave me some things to think about. I jotted down the words that struck me and today I would like to share these words with you. Unfortunately I did not note which speaker said what and also these are not exact quotes as I had to write fast. I apologize for this and would just like to remind you of who the speakers were that day: Duane T Bowers, Carol Ryan and Beth Holloway. http://www.missinginmichigan.com/Speakers
-They are afraid they will be forgotten.
- The more they are kept in the media, is beneficial to maybe being found.
- Guilt - What would you have done that this could have been different?
- Reboot your brain - walk backwards, eat on the floor, do things with the opposite hand...
- Be careful of shallow judgements.
- Your perceptions can be warped by your emotions.
- Criminals are scanning for inadequacies to exploit.
- Transition from victim to victor.
- You don't have the same rights and privileges in a foreign country.
- We don't live in a safe world, including in our homes, or in a chat room.
